The water-based polyurethane dries crystal clear, making it an ideal finish to use over light-colored wood or white stains. Aqua Zar meets all environmental standards for low emission of solvent vapors. Use on properly prepared new wood. Remove any wax, lacquer, shellac, or paint completely from old surfaces before finishing. Do not use steel wool. Follow can instructions. If staining, apply a good quality oil-based or water-based stain. Apply with a clean synthetic fiber or foam brush, lamb\’s wool applicator or pad. Do not apply with a roller. Follow all directions on the label especially when applying to floors. Allow 24 hours to dry. Recommended to use Zar original polyurethane or ultra polyurethane for heavily used floors. Covers approximately 400 to 425 Sq. Ft. per gallon. Transparency: Clear.
